A British passenger has been killed in a bus crash in Dominica

A British passenger who was on a P&O cruise ship holiday has been killed after a bus crash during an excursion in the Caribbean.

Nine others were taken to hospital in Dominica after the collision on Wednesday lunchtime and have since been discharged.

They were among 3,000 other passengers on the Azura ship, which left Southampton on October 28 for the 14-night cruise around the Caribbean.

P&O released a statement on its Facebook page confirming the accident, but says the cause of the accident is not yet known.

It read: “We’d like to advise you of some very sad news.

“A bus operated by a shore excursion provider was involved in a collision in Dominica on Wednesday lunchtime.

“The bus was carrying 12 passengers, including 10 guests from Azura. The cause of the accident is not yet known.
